Summary
Join Jungle Scout's Finance team as a Staff Accountant and participate in month-end and year-end close processes, adhering to GAAP. You will review and process vendor invoices, conduct account reconciliations, and process payroll entries. Responsibilities include identifying and resolving process weaknesses, maintaining accounting procedures, and preparing financial information for various stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses 2+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and strong knowledge of accounting principles related to SaaS products. Proficiency in Sage Intacct and Excel is required. Requirements
- You have 2+ years of prior accounting experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Knowledge of core accounting principles and how they relate to SaaS products and businesses
- You're independent and never miss a decimal point. You see beyond the numbers, thinking about how things fit into the big picture. You're passionate about problem solving
- You know your way around Sage Intacct. Ramp is a plus
- You create and work with intricate spreadsheets, pivot tables, and complex formulas
- You genuinely enjoy your work, bringing energy to the team everyday. Your positive, effective communication makes collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders a breeze
- You love looking at how processes can be improved and made more efficient. You are not afraid to bubble those ideas up
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including maintaining the general ledger, preparing of journal entries and tracking of accounts receivables and accounts payables
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices, expense reports, and accruals
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger maintenance as well as be responsible for reconciling assigned balance sheets and income statement accounts
- Process and allocate payroll entries across business units
- Identify process/control weaknesses and work independently to find resolutions
- Maintain company accounting procedures and processes and ensure compliance of all internal processes
- Assist in the preparation of financial information for taxes, audits, regulatory agencies, and necessary stakeholders
