Summary
Join Ncontracts as a Staff Accountant and manage general accounting and financial transactions, playing a key support role in financial decision-making. You will assist in all phases of accounting, including AR, AP, accruals, and fixed assets, while also reconciling and preparing journal entries. Responsibilities include overseeing sales tax management and reporting, supporting monthly and year-end financial closes, and answering accounting and financial questions. This role requires a Bachelorโs degree in accounting and NetSuite knowledge. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of accounting experience and 1+ years of multi-state sales tax experience. Requirements
- Bachelorโs degree in accounting (required)
- Knowledge of accounting systems (NetSuite required)
- Strong balance sheet skills and understanding of GAAP, with an emphasis on ASC 606
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task and balance priorities to meet deadlines
- Integrity, honesty, and analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Assist in all phases of accounting including but not limited to AR, AP, accruals, and fixed assets
- Aggregate, analyze and convert data sources on a daily and monthly basis
- Reconcile and prepare journal entries daily for cash and bank activity
- Oversee sales tax management and reporting
- Support monthly and year-end financial closes, including balance sheet account reconciliations
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Engage with customers as needed in a professional manner
- Help with gathering information for audits and tax preparation
- Any other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting experience (preferred)
- 1+ years of multi-state sales tax experience, including familiarity with exemption management
