Staff Accountant

Summary

Join Rightway as a Staff Accountant and contribute to the accurate and timely reporting of financial information. You will lead daily accounting operations, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist in financial statement preparation. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and 3+ years of general accounting experience. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are essential. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field required
• 3+ years of general accounting experience, with a proven track record of excelling and getting promoted
• Strong working knowledge of and experience in financial reporting, month end closing, and audit support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving
• Commitment to providing a quality internal service with high levels of satisfaction

Responsibilities

• Lead daily accounting operations including payables, customer billing, cash transactions, and responding to inquiries
• Prepare and post journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reporting
• Contribute to audit preparations, both internal and external, by providing required documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support company-wide initiatives and projects
• Assist in preparation of sales and use tax filings/software (Avalara or Sovos)
• Ability to operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment and can adapt to new and unique accounting requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within a fast paced startup and/or the healthcare technology industry or Pharmacy Benefit Management space is a plus
• CPA certification or progress toward obtaining it is a plus

Benefits

SALARY (BEFORE BONUS POTENTIAL): $65,000 - $95,000
