Staff Product Designer

Summary

Join Affirm's collaborative, remote-first team as a Staff Product Designer to redesign customer-facing communications via email and SMS. You will lead the design of growth UX initiatives, design scalable systems, and refine the visual language of Affirm's communications. This role involves collaborating with various teams, authoring documentation for the design system, and ensuring a consistent user experience. The ideal candidate possesses 7+ years of experience in communications and growth strategy, exceptional visual design skills, and proficiency in Figma and other design tools. Requirements

• 7+ years experience in communications & growth strategy, user experience, communications design or product focused roles
• This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Hands on experience in designing components and contributing to the development of design systems
• Exceptional visual design & information architecture skills with a balanced understanding of ‘just right’ design & timeliness
• High level proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Contentful, SFMC
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Lottiefiles, WCAG
• Comfort in ambiguity: you are able to self-direct, prioritize, and clearly communicate with stakeholders in shifting environments
• Reliability: you communicate clearly and follow through
• Humility: you recognize the efforts & importance of all contributors to the Design System & Design

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of end to end growth UX initiatives
• Design scalable systems, experiences, and frameworks with a focus on clarity, performance, high craft and visual luster
• Working closely with Content Designers, you will lead the refinement of the visual language of the Affirm Communications Strategy
• Author detailed documentation for the Affirm Communications Design System to outline guidelines and standards for us by other Designers, Engineers, Marketers, & Content Designers
• Be agile about providing context and incorporating feedback from Affirmers at all levels – engaging with teams across Affirm to educate, inform, and answer questions
• Partner closely with Engineering, Research, Content Design, Product Management, Product Marketing, Brand and Compliance & Legal to execute delightful user experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• UX writing experience
• Experience with consumer finance and/or payments
