Staff Product Manager, Governance And Security

Join Temporal as a Staff PM for Governance and Security, a newly created, high-impact role driving initiatives to improve how organizations use our metered cloud service. You will develop and own the security product strategy and roadmap, working closely with enterprise customers to understand their needs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to translating customer insights into security features. This role requires strong product management fundamentals and extensive experience in security, compliance, or governance within a SaaS environment. Requirements

• Strong understanding of Product Management fundamentals, including product lifecycle management, market research, roadmap development, prioritization, and translating customer needs into actionable product requirements
• 8+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years focused on security, compliance, or governance in a SaaS or tech environment
• Deep understanding of security practices, including data protection, authentication mechanisms, encryption standards, and security certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
• Hands-on experience ensuring product compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and other industry-specific security requirements
• Experience in developing or significantly revising features or machinery for managing users, access controls, resource allocation, and/or compliance
• Strong knowledge of how large enterprises and customer info-sec teams think about adopting new technology relative to their policies around user access and integration with security or governance regimes
• Proven experience working closely with customers to solve complex security and governance challenges while maintaining ease of use and a positive user experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the security product strategy and roadmap for solving problems around access and integration efforts that drive adoption of our core product
• Work closely with enterprise customers to understand their needs for managing identity and access controls, resource provisioning, compliance, and integration into their systems and processes
• Collaborate with cross functional leaders in GTM, Engineering, and Security teams to understand customer security needs and challenges. Translate these insights into security features that enhance trust and usability
• Serve as the internal and external advocate for security features, ensuring that all stakeholders understand the importance of security and how it’s integrated into our product

Preferred Qualifications

Strong candidates will have either had engineering orgs as a customer before or have other background around software delivery in a business

• The estimated pay range for this role is $196,000 - $245,000 depending on experience and geographical location
