Summary
Join the Platform Operations team at UNICC as a Windows and Systems Administrator. This 6-month contract position (with potential extension) based in Valencia, Spain or remotely (CET timezone) focuses on operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows systems and Active Directory. You will participate in planning, development, and deployment of new features and applications, while also optimizing services and providing 24/7 support. The role requires strong technical skills in Windows Server administration, PowerShell scripting, and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 yearsβ experience with Windows Server administration in large environments
- Microsoft Server Administration
- PowerShell Scripting
- Have a deep problem-solving background with accompanying troubleshooting skills
- Be able to work independently as well as collectively within a team
- Be able to apply critical thinking techniques
- Be able to effectively communicate with customers and other team members, both orally and in writing
- Be able to quickly adapt to new situations and a willingness to learn new technologies
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows systems within an enterprise-server environment
- Maintain best practices and procedures for patch management, virus management, and operating systems upgrades
- Active Directory Management, including managing and troubleshooting GPO's, DNS, and DHCP
- Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot system errors and client system issues
- Define and implement security best practices and hardening of the Windows Server OS and related technologies
- Build and manage Windows failover clusters
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform other duties as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of a configuration management solution such as SCCM
- Knowledge of monitoring tool such as SCOM
- Good understanding of Directory Services components, such as Active Directory, GPO, FSMO roles, DNS and DHCP
- Provide Incident Management, Problem Management, Service Request Fulfillment support
- Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, MCP are an advantage
- ITIIL v3 or v4 recommended but not required
