As a System Security Administrator, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's information systems and data assets by implementing, managing, and monitoring security measures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a System Security Administrator or similar role
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption, and authentication mechanisms
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) and their practical application
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound security decisions

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption mechanisms, and authentication protocols to protect against unauthorized access and threats
  • Manage user access and permissions across various systems, applications, and network resources. Regularly review and update access rights based on role changes and business requirements
  • Identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities in software, hardware, and network configurations. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively mitigate potential risks
  • Develop and maintain an incident response plan. Investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities in a timely and effective manner. Implement corrective actions and ensure lessons learned are integrated into security processes
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with relevant security standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR). Conduct regular audits, analyze security controls, and report findings to management
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and configurations. Ensure that documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on security-related matters. Collaborate with IT teams to implement security measures during system upgrades, patches, and changes
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and vulnerabilities. Continuously evaluate and recommend security enhancements to keep pace with evolving risks
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate security practices into the organization's overall operations and strategic initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are a plus
  • Experience with security tools and technologies, vulnerability assessment tools, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems is advantageous
