Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline OR 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
- 5 years of relevant Experience
- Expertise in IT principles and practices, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and an understanding of system administration in a Windows environment
- Adapt to changing priorities with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills and sharp attention to detail
- Effective communication, collaboration, organization, and coordination and across multiple levels to ensure consistent and unified messaging in large organizations
- Expertise in operating under high-pressure situations, flawless execution during crises, and mitigating applications / system risks
- Ability to work with Teams, but self-motivated to complete projects on your own
- Able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
- US Citizen or Green Card holder
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive application administration support services for IT operations software at an enterprise level, including installation, maintenance, and administration of the application
- Offer subject matter expertise for configuring and customizing the application
- Maintain and update knowledge-based documents, evaluate application configurations, and implement Government-recommended improvements within the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
- Assist in setting up essential administration components like notifications, service level agreements, and service contracts for the VA ESOM Contract
- Document all system changes following VA policy and the current change management framework
- Support the installation and configuration of VA Technical Reference Model third-party software applications and assist users, software vendors, and other administrators with application-related problems and projects
- Implement new releases, functionalities, and patches as part of ongoing support efforts, ensuring the applications operate efficiently and effectively
- Maintain and troubleshoot a wide variety of systems and networks to include high volume/high availability systems
- Support the VAβs system monitoring framework that utilizes both passive and active monitoring tools (including, for example, Tachyon, Configuration Manager) to continuously assess the health and performance of more than 600,000 endpoint devices within the VA network
- Troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions quickly
- Collaborate with Senior Systems Engineer as applicable to: conduct research on various aspects of proposed strategies and alternatives, summarizing the findings. When necessary, identify and use different process analysis methods to assess the impact of complex issues. If alternative strategies are needed, provide a comprehensive list of all alternatives considered and a detailed summary of the cost, schedule, and performance risks and benefits of each
- Identify advanced technologies, along with potential implementation plans, that offer real-time insights and predictive analysis to support informed, data-driven decisions that align with customer goals

- Experience supporting a federal client
- Section 508 conformance experience or knowledge
