Technical Account Manager

Summary

Alation is a data management company that helps customers find, understand, and trust data to drive value for their enterprise. As a Technical Account Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor and mentor to strategic customers, ensuring they get maximum value from Alation's platform. This role requires in-depth knowledge in data management, data analytics or data science, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the US.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of consulting experience
• Experience administering Linux operating systems
• Experience working with containers, e.g. Docker
• Experience in network troubleshooting with tools such as telnet, tracert, netstat
• Experience with at least one public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with multiple databases, warehouses and data lakes
• Excellent SQL query skills
• Experience coding against REST APIs using Python, Go, or Shell scripts
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools, e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik Sense, SAP BO

Responsibilities

• Help customers use, expand and troubleshoot the Alation platform
• Partner with the account team to develop a long term success plan
• Guide and assist customers with technical challenges
• Lead customers through product installation procedures
• Provide input on new features to Product Management
