Requirements
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Unityβs Particle System and/or VFX Graph
- A strong portfolio or demo reel
- Solid understanding of art and animation pipelines
- Strong knowledge of Unity Engine and Rendering pipelines Unity provides
- Setting up workflows of art production
- Familiarity with game systems and the game development process
- Scripting skills - C#
- Good proficiency with Unityβs NavMesh system
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Spatial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to look up and understand technical data
- Critical thinking and strong reasoning skills
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Liaise between heads of programming and design teams
- Research and develop technical tools for a project
- Create and edit shaders (HLSL, Shader Graph, Amplify)
- Support artists and engineers in the 3D art pipeline
- Assist in asset performance and validation
- Solve complex technical issues during development
- Decide on what software and tools are required for production
- Develop and maintain resources and pipelines along with programmers
- Port finished art to the game engine
- Ensure final art runs to full visual fidelity
- Work within the limits of the game engine, curating file sizes, polygon counts, and loading speeds
- Enforce standards as outlined by heads of departments
- Develop tools to support the production pipeline
- Set up character animations and controllers
- Optimize environments and establish physics barriers
- Create real-time and baked lighting setups
- Research and oversee the implementation of rendering techniques
- Develop performance of frame rate and memory
- Build navigation data and colliders for complex scenes
- Monitor the performance of the application
- Maintain technical documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in creating custom RPs is a big plus
- Familiarity with the Unreal Engine a Bonus
- Unreal Engine Knowledge a bonus
