Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2-3 years in a management or team lead role, overseeing writers or content creators, preferably in a technical or software-related environment
  • 7+ years in technical writing, content development, or a related field, with a strong portfolio of technical content, preferably for software products
  • Familiarity with MadCap Flare (or other technical writing authoring tools), Azure DevOps, and collaborative tools (e.g., Slack, Teams, GitHub)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain technical content that increases usersโ€™ ability to understand our products and services, how to use them in a real-world scenario, or solve a problem (deflecting support cases)
  • Provide forums for and encourage product consumer feedback on technical content
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of internal technical content for R&D teams, including technical diagrams, incident run books, technical knowledge base content
  • Hands on technical writing, editorial assistance, and guidance
  • Manage localization processes
  • Manage and maintain the global Kanban process and global standards within the regional group
  • Working with stakeholders and the global Technical Content team providing input to style guides and guidelines for documentation
  • Enable data-driven responses to evaluate and build upon our existing and new content
  • Build on technical and soft skills capabilities across the team
  • Ensure alignment with global Technical Content team
  • Examine and determine how to grow technical content externally and internally
  • Set group and individual goals
  • Contribute to global Technical Content strategy, OKRs, and direction
  • Conduct performance and salary reviews
  • Budget and P&L responsibility for technical content
  • Proactively manage relationships with external providers, including management of contractor and vendor agreements
  • Promote the function of the technical content team within the company and the resources the technical content team provides

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees or certifications in Technical Communication, Information Design, or Project Management
  • Familiarity with localization of technical content
  • Familiarity or experience with innovation in technical writing processes, e.g., use of AI
