Join MongoDB as a Technical Services Engineer for Named Accounts and use your exceptional problem solving and customer service skills to advise customers and solve their complex MongoDB problems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of database industry experience deploying and managing operational production databases at scale, both on premise and in the cloud
- Experience building and maintaining complex, mission-critical production database systems
- Understanding and experience with Cloud architectures, specifically: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Customer management - passionate about being in a customer-facing technical role, showcasing ownership of technical success, and prioritizing customer work
- Stakeholder management- ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner with various stakeholders on matters important to them internally and externally, ability to influence decisions, and ability to calibrate communication style based on the audience
- Systems engineering experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting
- Should have a good understanding of Networking concepts and protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS etc.)
- Storage engineering experience, including NAS, SAN, SSD, multi-pathing, and caching
- Experience analyzing issues holistically, from the application tier through the database, down to the storage
- Genuine desire to help people
- Ability to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure, and solve problems in real-time
- Be able to read code, and have basic coding/scripting ability in one or more languages: Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, Javascript, node.js, Go, etc
- Desire and ability to rapidly learn a wide variety of new technical skills
- Strong teamwork
Responsibilities
- Use exceptional problem solving and customer service skills to advise customers and solve their complex MongoDB problems
- Be an expert resource on best practices for running MongoDB at scale, whatever that scale may be
- Advocate for customers' needs and interface with our product management and development teams on their behalf
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing large scale databases (e.g. RDBMS, NoSQL)
- Experience with authentication systems such as LDAP, Kerberos, AD
- Experience using or managing MongoDB
