Summary

Join Smartsheet as a Technical Solutions Engineer, EMEA and provide technical guidance throughout the sales process. This high-profile role involves collaborating with the sales/presales team to develop solution proposals, building proof of concepts, and creating solution diagrams. You will be a technical SME for the Presales organization, providing expert knowledge on Smartsheet's products and capabilities. Actively seek out opportunities to develop new integrations and solutions, and work with Product Management and Operations as the customer advocate on technical feature requests. This role requires 5+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer or relevant security position in SaaS and/or enterprise software, technical knowledge of underlying technologies used in SaaS applications, and familiarity with Smartsheet products. You should be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, develop complex technical solutions, and understand Service/User Management from an IT perspective. Experience with APIs, standard authorization protocols, iPaaS/workflow automation platforms, and programming languages like JavaScript or Python is essential. Requirements

  • 5+ of experience as a Sales Engineer or relevant security position in SaaS and/or enterprise software
  • Technical knowledge of the underlying technologies used in SaaS applications
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet products such as Core App, Bridge, Resource Management, Premium Apps, Control Center, Connectors
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to develop complex technical solutions to demonstrate value to customers
  • Understanding of Service/User Management from an IT perspective
  • Experience working with APIs and standard authorization protocols (OAuth2, SAML/SSO, OpenID, etc.)
  • Experience with iPaaS/workflow automation platforms
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a curious mindset to identify and resolve complex technical challenges
  • Proficiency with programming  languages such as JavaScript or Python
  • Willing to travel periodically based on customer and business needs

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the sales/presales team to develop solution proposals that align with customer requirements and deliver maximum value
  • Build proof of concepts to demonstrate the capabilities of our products and services to customers
  • Build solution diagrams that clearly articulate the technical architecture and requirements of proposed solutions
  • Be a technical SME for the Presales organization
  • Provide expert knowledge on what can/can’t be done using Smartsheet’s products together with other tools to solve customer needs
  • Be a recognized Smartsheet technical expert and develop relationships with partners on the Product and Engineering teams
  • Actively seek out opportunities to develop new integrations and solutions to address gaps and deliver value to customers
  • Work with Product Management and Operations as the customer advocate on technical feature requests. As part of the role you will help promote the product vision to make sure it is always aligned with our customer’s signal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GitHub and/or GitLab is a plus
  • Experience/understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
  • Familiarity with the MEDDIC Pre-Sales/Sales methodology is a plus
  • Smartsheet certified is a plus
  • IT User/System Management certification (ITIL Certification) or equivalent is a plus
  • Bachelors (BA/BS) degree preferred
