Summary
Join TherapyNotes, a leading provider of behavioral health practice management and EHR software, as a Technical Writer. You will be responsible for creating, managing, and enhancing documentation for various user personas, including therapists, administrators, and technical stakeholders. This role requires strong communication skills, technical acumen, and a user-centered mindset. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, customer support, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality content that aligns with user needs and company standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in technical writing for software applications
- Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Clear, concise communication style with a focus on usability and readability
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to gather information from cross-functional teams
- Experience with (or willingness to learn) tools such as HubSpot, Zendesk, JIRA, and Confluence
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a variety of documentation assets including product release notes, application user guides, knowledge base articles, and tutorials for a wide range of customer personas
- Become a Subject-Matter Expert (SME) for TherapyNotes products by deeply understanding the application and customer workflows through collaboration, research, and data analysis
- Apply best practices in document structure and visual hierarchy to ensure materials are well-organized, engaging, and easy to navigate
- Craft timely, accurate, and user-friendly status updates through blog posts, in-app messages, and other formats during system events or outages
- Review and edit existing documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, grammatical correctness, and alignment with brand and style guidelines
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, propose innovative approaches, and shape the future of our documentation efforts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare or behavioral health industry
- Familiarity with basic HTML5 and CSS3 for formatting documentation or managing web-based content
