Requirements
- Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong written language skills
- Experience using git, GitHub, Markdown, and HTML
- Basic understanding of HTTP, REST, and how to test and evaluate APIs and other software components
- Experience installing, configuring, using, and troubleshooting software and command-line tools
- Programming and database querying skills (academic or professional)
- Familiarity with and ability to adapt to established technical writing style guides
Responsibilities
- Document new features and capabilities as they are released by the engineering team
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other departments to gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation
- Test and validate those features against the documentation you have developed
- Work in a docs-as-code environment to draft, edit, and proofread technical documents and user guides
- Participate in regular planning meetings with the product team
- Optimize documentation for search and AI retrieval
- Configure and use custom GPTs to improve documentation and assist users
- Contribute and review blog posts that highlight new features and capabilities
- Follow established documentation standards and guidelines
- Incorporate the latest best practices and tooling to improve documentation quality and user experience
