Trade Accounting Manager

Summary

Join Olipop as their Trade Spend Deduction Manager! This role oversees the management, validation, and resolution of trade deductions to ensure accurate financial reporting. You will investigate and dispute invalid deductions, collaborate with various teams (brokers, sales, retailers), monitor deduction trends, and provide regular reports. The position requires 5-7+ years of experience in trade spend or related fields within a CPG environment and a strong understanding of trade promotions and deductions. The successful candidate will report to the Controller and receive a base salary of $110,000-$120,000 plus a bonus. Olipop is a fully remote company with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in trade spend, deductions management, accounts receivable, or finance in a CPG, retail, or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of trade promotions, deductions and charge backs in CPGs
• Experience with customer portals and deduction management tools (Confido, HighRadius..)
• Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite)
• Experience in distributor deductions and familiarity with broker commission processing

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end process of trade spend deductions, ensuring timely and accurate resolution
• Investigate, validate, and dispute unauthorized or invalid deductions with customers
• Work closely with brokers, sales teams, and retailers to ensure deductions align with agreed-upon trade promotions
• Monitor deduction trends and identify root causes to reduce future invalid claims
• Reconcile trade spend deductions with promotional agreements, ensuring financial accuracy
• Provide regular reports on deduction trends, root causes, and recovery rates to finance and leadership teams
• Assist in month-end close processes by ensuring deductions are recorded correctly
• Partner with cross-functional teams (supply chain, RGM, commercial) to ensure deduction accuracy and performance guidance
