Trading Operations Senior Associate

Summary

Join Alpaca, a leading brokerage infrastructure technology company, as a Senior Trading Associate! You will manage the day-to-day operations of the Equity and Options Trading Operations team, building scalable infrastructure and procedures. Responsibilities include reviewing trade surveillance reports, monitoring order flow, resolving client escalations, and creating policies. You will also contribute to the firm's best execution program and manage firm held positions. This role requires specific FINRA licenses and extensive experience in trading operations. • Experience with both front and back end processes for trading lifecycle (Equity and Options)
• Experience in SQL (willingness to learn)
• Experience creating and maintaining relationships with executing counterparties
• Experience with order quality evaluations including execution and market manipulation testing
• A leader that has a track record of successful team building and creating growth opportunities for their team members

Responsibilities

• Create and improve upon a world class execution platform
• Assist in the Firm’s Best-Execution Program by reviewing post-trade exception reports
• Review Trade Surveillance reports and take appropriate action to resolve alerts
• Monitor order flow for irregularities
• Timely resolution of client trade escalations
• Create/update policies and procedures as needed
• Reconciliation of firm error and inventory accounts
• Risk monitoring/trading of firm held positions
• Maintain firm GTC order book
• Create and drive new initiatives
• Assist the Director of Trading Operations in the execution of firm objective
• Ad Hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with Financial or FINTech startups
• Prior experience working with international clients
