Summary

Join Moodle's Marketplace team as a UX Designer and contribute to the success of the Moodle ecosystem! You will conduct UX research, design prototypes for the e-commerce platform, and collaborate with a team that values learning and improvement. This role involves user research, UX design, and supporting product development. You'll work closely with developers, communicate design decisions, and share your work with the team and broader Moodle community. Requirements

  • Be fluent in English
  • Have extensive experience as a Product Designer, UX/UI Designer or similar role
  • Have experience as a UX Designer on a web application product
  • Have experience with design principles including colour, layout, and typography
  • Have experience with tightly defined pattern libraries and style guides
  • Be a fun and friendly person who likes the sound of a very social team
  • Be an enthusiastic communicator: This role is a voice of the customer within the team
  • Be a creative person who looks forward to joining a team with high standards
  • Have a great design portfolio showcasing detailed case studies and test and fail processes leading up to the end solution
  • Communicate well in writing

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research to inform decision-making and solution designs (customer interviews, usability testing, engaging with the Moodle community)
  • Design key user experiences for the initial Marketplace MVP
  • Ensure usability and accessibility of the Marketplace solution
  • Work with the team to identify and propose opportunities to optimise the Marketplace to achieve defined product objectives and KPIs
  • Actively communicate and problem-solve with the Marketplace development team at all stages of the research/design process
  • Communicate rationale behind design decisions, and securing buy-in from team members, the Moodle community, and other stakeholders
  • Share research, designs, and prototypes with the Marketplace team and more broadly across Moodle when appropriate
  • Participate in design critiques and knowledge sharing with the broader Moodle UX team
  • Collaborate with the broader Moodle UX team on continued process improvement and advancement of the UX practice at Moodle
  • Working closely with the Marketplace team to build a deep understanding of customer needs, journeys and pain points
  • Working collaboratively with UX Researchers and Content Designers on larger research and content design initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience designing for e-commerce products
  • Have understanding or experience working in a Product team using an Agile approach
