Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or MSc degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Design, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on experience in a dedicated User Researcher role, ideally within a product-focused environment
- Methodology Expertise: Proven experience with a range of qualitative research methods (e.g., user interviews, usability testing, field studies) and a good understanding of when to apply them
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex research findings clearly to diverse audiences
- Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with user research tools (e.g., UserTesting, Miro, Figma for prototyping/testing, survey tools)
Responsibilities
- Plan & Execute Research: Design and conduct a variety of user research studies (e.g., usability testing, user interviews, surveys, concept testing, field studies) to gather qualitative and quantitative insights
- Identify User Needs: Uncover user behaviours, motivations, pain points, and unmet needs to inform product strategy and design decisions
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Product Leads, Product Designers, Engineers, and Data Analysts to define research objectives, share findings, and ensure user insights are integrated throughout the product development lifecycle
- Analyse & Synthesise Data: Analyse research data, synthesise findings, and translate complex information into clear, concise, and compelling insights and actionable recommendations
- Communicate Findings: Present research findings to various stakeholders through compelling reports, presentations, and workshops
- Champion the User: Advocate for the user throughout the organisation, fostering a user-centered culture
- Contribute to Research Operations: Help develop and refine research processes, tools, and best practices within the team
Preferred Qualifications
- Quantitative Skills: Experience with quantitative research methods (e.g., surveys with statistical analysis) or working closely with data scientists
- Domain Knowledge: Experience in SaaS, B2B software is a bonus
- UX Design Familiarity: Basic understanding of UX design principles and how research informs design
- Accessibility Awareness: Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and inclusive design practices
