Requirements

  • Proficiency in designing for Drupal platforms and knowledge of Drupal.org best practices
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA)
  • Expertise in mobile-first and responsive design principles
  • Knowledge of SEO strategies and data-driven decision-making processes
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar platforms
  • Strong portfolio showcasing user-centric designs, accessibility-focused projects, and mobile-friendly interfaces
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Relevant degree in design or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Lead the user experience and interface design for a New York State Website Redesign project
  • Design with WCAG 2.2 AA standards to ensure the website is engaging and functional for users with accessibility needs
  • Collaborate with developers to implement and validate accessibility features beyond automated testing
  • Create visually appealing, professional designs in line with the agency's branding guidelines and Drupal best practices
  • Develop design systems and reusable components for scalability
