Join Nuvalent, a dynamic early-stage biopharmaceutical company, as the Vice President, Sales. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the building and leadership of the U.S. sales organization for the launch of innovative oncology therapies. You will develop and implement the U.S. sales strategy, recruit and manage a high-performing sales team, and establish a robust sales training function. Success in this position requires extensive experience in biopharma sales, particularly within oncology, and a proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively. The role demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product launches and market penetration. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 15+ years biopharma experience including oncology launch experience; NSCLC and biotech experience preferable
  • 10+ years of US oncology sales experience in leadership roles
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize projects effectively and communicate at all levels within the company
  • Strong knowledge of analytics and operations tools/technologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills)
  • Up to 50% domestic travel

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a comprehensive U.S. sales strategy, ensuring market readiness and alignment with Nuvalent’s commercial goals
  • Lead the development of sales processes and infrastructure including customer targeting, territory alignment, patient-identification efforts, and incentive compensation programs
  • Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing field sales team capable of driving excellence in execution and customer engagement
  • Serve as a member of the US Commercial leadership team, contributing to strategic direction and attainment of company-wide goals
  • Establish and oversee a robust Sales Training program to prepare the field force with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a dynamic market
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other internal teams to ensure seamless launch readiness and market success
  • Work closely with the brand team to set launch targets, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and proactively manage incentives and metrics
  • Work closely with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance to ensure all sales activities and are compliant with industry regulations and guidelines
  • Collaborate with the Market Access on account strategy that coordinates the efforts of the sales team and other field teams
  • Collaborate with Market Access to support patient access to our medicines. Continuously assess performance and adjust strategies to optimize results
  • Ensure coordination of field-facing teams working with Medical Affairs
  • Lead sales readiness initiatives for the successful commercialization of zidesamtinib and neladalkib, aligning resources and strategies to maximize impact

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or equivalent degree preferable
