Summary
Join IntelliDyne as a Vice President of Capture to drive growth in the DOD market. You will shape and execute capture strategies, managing the transition from opportunity discovery to proposal submission. This role requires 15+ years of experience in Federal IT business development with recent wins, a deep understanding of Army/Naval organizations, and a strong network of government and industry contacts. Responsibilities include leading capture efforts for major contracts ($50M+), collaborating with various teams, developing win strategies, and providing executive briefings. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management, communication, and government contracting expertise. A Bachelor's degree is desired, and a Master's degree is preferred.
Requirements
- Minimum 15+ years’ experience developing and capturing business with proven RECENT (within the past 24 months) wins in the Federal IT markets
- Deep understanding of Army and/or Naval organizations and buying habits
- Established network of government customers and industry partners
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key federal customers and industry partners
- Ability to think strategically and derive differentiators from a company’s capabilities to promote in the delivery of IT services
- Ability to quickly gain an in-depth understanding of a company’s past performance and apply that to credible and convincing win strategies
- Solid understanding of project management including strong organizational skills and clear, effective communication
- Strong understanding of government contracts and contract vehicles
- Experienced with the federal proposal process
- In-depth knowledge of the Federal acquisition life-cycle (FAR, IDIQs, GWACs, OTA, etc.)
- Good instincts for when a deal should be no bid or pursued
- Experience with capture tools such as GovWin, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms and pipeline tools, such as TechnoMile
- Ability to develop, train and manage a Capture Team
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top-Secret level security clearance
Responsibilities
- Capture Manager (CM) focused on conducting efforts to shape and secure major contracts ($50M+) from DOD organizations
- Operate within the overall IntelliDyne business development and capture processes, philosophy and policies. Maintain a professional approach to performing duties, including full awareness and compliance of applicable Federal Procurement and Corporate Business Ethics Codes and Regulations
- Identify resource needed to pursue a bid and estimate level of effort
- Execute all phases of the capture process by collaborating with Business Developers, Analysts, Solution Architects, Proposal Managers, Technical Writers, Pricers etc
- Assess info from various sources, including own research, to develop win themes
- Digest available intelligence for competitive analysis
- Working with deal stakeholders (Solution Architects, Program Managers, Contracts, Pricers, etc.) to develop the price to win
- Applying best practices for capture management to increase the probability of winning a deal
- Provide briefings to executive team on deal capture status
- Able to execute multiple concurrent capture efforts
- Externally, position IntelliDyne with targeted clients and provide business and competitive intelligence to, and work closely with, the applicable Business Development (BD) and Executives on new and re-compete business opportunities
- Internally, develop and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including other BD and capture team members, Client Executives, Proposal Managers, including Executives and program management teams to ensure effective, efficient, and integrated implementation of IntelliDyne capture strategies
- Build and develop a cohesive capture, solutioning and proposal team
- Form winning industry teams based on customer knowledge, analysis of performance requirements, capability gaps, and considering special areas, such as small business utilization
- Advance the development of customer profiles and competitive assessments, by identifying and analyzing strengths and weaknesses of IntelliDyne and potential competitors. Identify potential risks and develop avoidance and mitigation capture strategies
- Ensure the development of proposal solutions that offer competitive distinction and executable approaches correlated with the winning strategy
- Perform as a professional steward of IntelliDyne resources and reputation in the execution of all assigned duties
- Meet or exceed established performance goals in support of overall corporate growth and success
Preferred Qualifications
- Training or certification in the Shipley Method of Proposal Writing & Capture preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree desired (Master’s degree preferred)
- Previous Director/CGO/Capture lead experience
- Direct experience leading the capture of multiple large deals ($50+ million) within the Federal/DoD markets, DHA and/or DHS
