Join Virta Health as the Vice President, Growth - Optum/UHC, and spearhead net new business growth with UnitedHealth Group (UHG). You will build relationships, manage sales strategies, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive revenue growth across ASO, fully insured, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and other areas. The position involves collaborating with internal teams and UHG leadership to maximize Virta's market presence and impact. Success hinges on your ability to present Virta's value proposition effectively and foster strong relationships at all levels within UHG. This is a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to Virta's mission of reversing diabetes and obesity.
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in healthcare or healthcare-related field
- Significant understanding and experience either working at Optum or UHC in a growth role, or a wealth of experience of partnering and selling through Optum/UHC for ASO business and/or other lines of business
- Quantifiable history of meeting or exceeding sales targets or OKRs
- Ability to present clearly to key decision makers
- Consultative selling experience, including collaboration with an indirect sales team
- Ability to proactively manage pipeline and willingness to leverage Salesforce in a strategic data-driven approach
- Demonstrated collaboration with internal colleagues (marketing, product, ops, etc.) to support sales momentum
- A passion for improving the health of millions of people with the ability to thrive in a mature startup environment
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute on the sales strategy for the Optum/UHC partnership
- Champion Virta by continuing to enable and activate this large partner
- Manage and progress pipeline opportunities for growth
- Track and report on partner KPIs to demonstrate success
- Foster bottoms-up and top-down relationships within the UHG universe and drive Virta awareness within their organization (promote Virtaโs latest studies, accomplishments, news cycles)
- Empower and enable our direct sales teams to sell Virta through this partner
- Establish regular touchpoints with Optum/UHC leaders (i.e., virtual meetings, onsites, marketing events)
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Virta on all things Optum/UHC
- Work closely with Virtaโs marketing, partnership, sales, and customer success teams to provide feedback and expose growth and execution opportunities as it relates to Optum/UHC
- Become an expert in presenting Virta and the Optum/UHC sales strategy
- Collaborate on strategic plan with cross functional teams - Customer Success, Marketing, Sales
- Begin executing the business plan for success by engaging with Optum/UHC leaders for growth
- Focus on impact to revenue growth rate from Optum/UHC partnership
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Type 2 diabetes and of potential competitors
- Knowledge of weight loss vendors and dynamics of GLP-1 weight loss drugs
- Knowledge of other health care point solutions beyond diabetes
- Experience in marketing / sales-enablement
