Summary
Join TED as a Media Professional to manage and grow their YouTube channel. This full-time remote role requires coordinating daily content publication, creating original video content (including Shorts), writing compelling copy, and leading data analysis and optimization efforts. You will collaborate with internal and external teams, develop audience strategies, and ensure content accessibility. Requirements
- 3-4 years of digital media experience, including managing a large (10K+ subscribers) YouTube channel
- Short-form digital video creation and editing experience, including scripting, storytelling and optimization, preferably using Premiere or Final Cut Pro X
- Experience using digital content management systems and the ability and enthusiasm to learn new software
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to shift between contexts, from brainstorming TED Talk headlines to engaging with audience comments
- Super organized with precise attention to detail
- Ability to pass a writing and video editing test
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day publication of TED content on TEDβs main YouTube channel, youtube.com/TED
- Produce and edit: YouTube-first original video content, including Shorts and creator collaborations; video thumbnails; and thematic livestreams, drawing on the archive of past TED Talks to match the current moment in the world and on the platform
- Write and edit compelling copy reflective of YouTube best practices and aimed at improving content performance
- Lead data tracking and YouTube analytics efforts, measuring and communicating progress to internal and external teams, and optimizing strategy for search and discovery of TED content
- Collaborate on unique-to-YouTube marketing efforts for new products and initiatives at TED
- Partner with other internal publishing teams at TED, including TEDx and TED-Ed
- Monitor and develop a robust audience strategy for YouTube to deepen community engagement
- Edit and proofread English-language subtitles so talks are accessible upon publishing
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with digital product teams internally at TED and externally at YouTube
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in a second language other than English, especially one of the following: Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese Simplified, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish
- Experience in data or database management and project management tools
- Community management or customer service background
