You will develop and maintain strong client relationships, plan account expansion strategies, and meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in selling professional or managed IT services, a deep understanding of cloud technologies, and proven success in client relationship management and revenue growth. Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in selling professional or managed IT services in the cloud, application, analytics, data management and data infrastructure space
  • Previous experience in a sales role in the information technology or professional services sector with a track record of developing and managing client relationships and significantly growing revenue with current accounts
  • Experience in selling cloud technologies and services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) as well as a deep understanding of the growing purpose and role of various public cloud platforms
  • Strong understanding of the vital role of data in the application and analytics space and the various underlying technologies both in the cloud and on prem
  • Proven ability to retain customers and help them expand their product footprint
  • Experience effectively communicating product changes and updates
  • Ability to manage influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in the use of Salesforce, and its importance

Responsibilities

  • Manage a book of business and oversee relationships with top client executives
  • Work with existing clients to expand Pythian’s Google Workspace/Chrome/ISV footprint as well as ensure customer retention
  • Plan target account expansion strategies and tactics
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell from one offering to multiple offerings within Pythian’s portfolio
  • Lead introductory meetings with other contacts within the client organization by positioning Pythian’s value proposition and identifying their short-term and long-term strategic objectives
  • Work with clients to secure contract renewals and expand services under contract
  • Lead account planning, growth strategy, and client business reviews, and ensure customer satisfaction and retention
  • Build positive and productive internal and external relationships
  • Develop executive relationships within the client organization
  • Keep thorough records of customer interactions and provide sales projections on a weekly basis
  • Document and share success stories and meticulous CRM (salesforce) updating
  • Monitor, evaluate, and make recommendations with respect to lost sales opportunities to continually improve on Pythian’s sales results
  • Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets
  • Travel as required to attend in-person meetings with prospects and clients, attend conferences, Trade shows, and other industry events, as well as annual sales kickoff meetings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally combined background of post-sale and sales experience
  • Deep understanding of value drivers in recurring revenue business models
  • Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and improvement
  • An enthusiastic and creative leader with the ability to inspire others
  • Cloud certifications are an asset
