Summary

The job is for an experienced Account Manager to join Version 1's team in Northern Ireland Public Sector business. The role involves managing existing customer accounts, negotiating contracts, preparing business updates, and contributing to sales strategies. The successful candidate should have experience in a business development/account management environment, preferably in the Public Sector or Central Government.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a business development/account management environment
  • Experience in working in IT Services and technology solutions environment (rather than product)
  • Knowledge of Public Sector tender processes
  • Influencing skills: the ability to get people at multiple levels to deliver what you need on time and with high quality
  • Strong written skills in order to complete tender and internal documentation to a high standard
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all levels across an organisation internally and externally
  • Experience of building good customer relationships
  • Good commercial awareness and sound understanding of project and business dynamics
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, effective prioritisation of tasks and personal time management

Responsibilities

  • Develop an existing portfolio of customer accounts across the public sector in a way that delivers sales and growth targets
  • Maximise revenue while delivering the highest level of customer service
  • Communicate with clients, address concerns, and resolve conflicts
  • Raise clients’ business concerns and needs to the company’s management
  • Negotiate and close business contracts with existing and new clients
  • Deliver sales pitch to prospective clients
  • Prepare and present business and account updates to the company’s management and clients
  • Monitor the budget of the client, explain costs or expenditures and discuss new terms if necessary
  • Follow up with clients to ensure they are satisfied with Version 1 services
  • Contribute information to sales strategies by assessing current results, monitoring competitive products, assessing needs to be filled and analysing customer reactions
