Summary
Join Virtual Technologies Group (VTG) as a Sales Account Manager and contribute to the growth of our national IT support services. You will manage and expand existing accounts, identify new sales opportunities, and build strong client relationships. This role requires strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, along with experience in IT sales. The position offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, bonus, and commission, targeting a total compensation of $150k-$180k. The role is remote but requires travel up to 30% to client sites near major airport hubs. Location preferences include Toledo, OH, Atlanta, GA, Austin, TX, and Columbia, MD.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of proven success in a sales role, preferably within the IT industry
- Strong understanding of IT services, including managed services, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data center solutions
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in CRM software (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decisions and efficiencies
- Ability to travel as needed to support field operations and client engagement
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities within existing accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at client organizations
- Understand client business needs and translate them into effective IT solutions
- Conduct needs assessments, prepare proposals, and deliver compelling presentations
- Negotiate and close deals, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements
- Monitor account performance and identify areas for improvement and growth
- Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract execution
- Accurately forecast and track sales performance against established targets
- Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for management
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities
- Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns
- Proactively address client issues and ensure their satisfaction
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships based on trust and mutual benefit
- Foster strong client relationships through regular communication and value-added services
- Collaborate with internal teams, including technical support, engineering, and marketing, to ensure successful project delivery
- Share best practices and knowledge with other sales team members
- Contribute to the overall success of the sales organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with consultative selling methodologies
- Experience with selling complex IT solutions
- Certifications in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft)
