Accountant

Summary

Join Shippo's Finance Team as a Short Term Accountant, directly supporting sales and strategic partner teams. This frontline operational finance role significantly impacts partner billing, new customer contract setup, and existing customer contract modifications. You will process customer contracts from Salesforce into NetSuite and resolve related issues. The ideal candidate possesses a bias for action, a sharp perspective, and a proven ability to drive performance improvements. This position requires strong accounting skills, tech-savviness, and excellent communication abilities. Shippo offers a remote-first work environment, with opportunities for international locations.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in an accounting role, ideally with time spent in fast-paced tech environments
• Tech savvy with strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
• Clear, concise communicator who can flex between tactical and strategic conversations without losing the thread
• High ownership and follow-through—you track things, close loops, and bring rigor without needing reminders
• You’re respected because you bring value, not because of your title
• Advanced or Fluent English communication

Responsibilities

• Support fast-paced growth with a flexible mindset including over order-to-cash operations, including customer billing and contract setup and maintenance in NetSuite
• Actively participate in monthly close activities including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules, performing flux analyses and reconciliations, as needed
• Thrive in ambiguity with the ability to reprioritize based on many business needs
• Support annual audits performed by external auditors
• Continuously improve business processes, systems, and enhance documentation and controls
• Complete special projects as needed
