Join Truffle Security Co. as a detail-oriented Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, oversee expense reporting, maintain financial controls, and lead the close process. You will take full ownership of the general ledger, prepare financial statements, ensure compliance with US GAAP, and support financial audits. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance (mix of public accounting and in-house preferred)
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Excel/Google Sheets proficiency
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with the ability to operate independently
- Excellent communication skills and experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced environments
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the general ledger, including AP, AR, payroll journal entries, commission tracking, and bank reconciliations
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with speed and precision
- Prepare financial statements and maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and support the development and enforcement of internal financial controls
- Support and help lead the facilitation of annual financial audits in partnership with external auditors
- Own and improve the company’s expense reporting process, including employee reimbursements and card reconciliation
- Manage and optimize financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Expensify, Bill.com), and help evaluate future tools (e.g., NetSuite)
- Contribute to short- and long-term cash flow forecasting, budget-to-actuals analysis, and company-wide financial planning
- Partner with tax and accounting advisors on filings, compliance, and best practices (e.g., 1099s, local/state registrations, etc.)
- Collaborate with department leads to ensure accurate expense coding, budget tracking, and vendor payment coordination
- Partner with People Ops on payroll reconciliations, benefits accounting, and compensation tracking
- Oversee vendor onboarding and payment operations in partnership with internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA
- Experience in a high-growth startup or SaaS company
- Familiarity with Rippling and Expensify
- Experience supporting financial forecasting or FP&A
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and proactively drive improvements
