Requirements
- Proven experience in a finance/accounting role 3+ years
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheet skills: expertise in using advanced functions and formulas
- Comprehensive understanding of QuickBooks Online, experience in managing company financials
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations in the US (GAAP)
- Ability to support and collaborate with a finance team effectively
- Readiness to work in a high-growth startup, with the ability to help build processes from scratch, not just maintain existing ones
Responsibilities
- Plan, Organize, and Execute Financial Tasks and Projects: Plan, organize, and execute various financial tasks and projects critical to the company's operational and strategic objectives. This includes creating financial plans, managing financial risks, and ensuring that the financial operations align with the overall business goals
- Provide and Interpret Financial Reports for Management: Prepare comprehensive financial reports and analyze financial data to provide meaningful insights and recommendations to the managerial team. This involves interpreting financial information and trends to support decision-making and advising on possible courses of action to improve financial performance and operational efficiency
- Manage the Preparation of the Companyโs Budget: Oversee the budgeting process, including developing the annual budget, monitoring expenses, and ensuring that the budget aligns with the companyโs financial goals and strategies. This requires meticulous planning and coordination with various departments to compile and review budget proposals
- Estimate Funds for Short and Long-Term Financial Objectives: Make accurate estimates of the funds required to meet both the short-term and long-term financial objectives of the company. This includes forecasting cash flows, identifying financial risks, and planning for capital expenditures and operational funding needs
- Payroll accrual and payment: Accurately calculate and record payroll accruals to ensure that all employee compensation and related expenses are properly accounted for in financial records. Oversee the timely and compliant disbursement of payroll payments, ensuring that all employees receive their correct compensation and that payroll processes align with regulatory requirements
