Requirements
- BS degree in Finance/Accounting or Business
- At least five years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis in a non-profit organization
- Knowledge of non-profit grant rules and regulations
- Proficiency in financial software applications with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Impeccable dedication to customer service
- Demonstrable understanding of regulatory requirements and GAAP principles
- Strong analytic skills, including creative approaches to problem-solving

Responsibilities
- Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Perform full cycle accounting, including preparing and reviewing monthly financials and schedules for the month-end close process
- Work closely with leadership and other finance professionals to reconcile accounts and review quarterly or annual reports
- Review grant contracts monthly to ensure revenue is correctly entered and recorded
- Manage all restricted funding activity, ensuring an accurate & current status of unexpended and available funding sources
- Prepare monthly journal entries, including payroll entries, reviews, and research account transactions, and perform analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Develop and manage the internal control environment
- Participate in monthly meetings to review budgets, financials, and other reports
- Complete monthly credit card and bank reconciliations
- Maintain balance sheet schedules, including fixed assets, prepaid expenses and deposits, accrued expenses, receivables, and payables
- Own the annual financial statement audit process by providing information and preparing detailed account reports
- Own preparation of annual forms NEC1099 and Misc1099
