Summary

This full-time, flexible (remote, in-person, or hybrid) position requires a strategic individual to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain regulatory compliance, and support the company's financial goals. The successful candidate will manage a team of accounting professionals, oversee inventory accounting, reconcile financial statements, and collaborate with other departments. Requirements

  • Alignment with PublicSquare company values
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role, including at least 1-2 years in a managerial role, preferably within a publicly traded company or complex multi-entity organization
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance
  • Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g. Sage Intacct), MS Office Suite (particularly Excel), Google Suite, and other financial management tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review daily, monthly, and quarterly journal entries, ensuring they are correctly posted to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to support their development and the overall success of the team
  • Oversee the organization's inventory accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Reconcile key financial statement account balances and help to resolve variances
  • Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and legal, to support business initiatives and ensure alignment with overall company objectives
  • Assist with external audits and in providing all necessary information to auditors
  • Assist management with budgeting, forecasting and demand planning
  • Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed CPA
  • Experience with Sage Intacct
