Join Shift Technology's finance team as an experienced Accounting Manager, focusing on managing and ensuring the accuracy of financial operations primarily in the Americas. You will oversee daily accounting operations, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with local GAAP and IFRS. The role involves managing cross-border transactions, implementing best practices, and collaborating with global teams. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, 8+ years of experience in international accounting, and strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS. Preferred locations are Boston or remote within the Eastern Time Zone. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in international accounting, preferably in a multinational corporation
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
- Experience with ERP/procurement systems (e.g. NetSuite, Coupa) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a global team environment
- Well-organized, able to formalize work and with good accounting logic
- Fluency in English and French (written and spoken)
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll entries/reconciliation, and general ledger activities
- Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements and reports for international subsidiaries in compliance with local GAAP (Canada, US, Mexico, Brazil) and IFRS
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for international entities
- Monitor compliance with local tax laws and regulations
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax consultants, and local accounting teams to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Manage VAT/GST/sales taxes filings, corporate tax returns, and other regulatory submissions
- Oversee multi-currency transactions, foreign exchange gains/losses
- Coordinate intercompany reconciliations, allocations, eliminations and verify reciprocity
- Develop and implement best practices for international accounting processes and systems
- Provide recommendations to enhance financial systems and streamline global operations
- Partner with your leaders and peers on day to day work and projects where high quality work, personal accountability, resilience, #MakeItHappen attitude, and collaboration are expected
- Serve as a key advisor to the business on international accounting and financial matters or accounting tools
Preferred Qualifications
CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification
