Summary
Join Vacasa, the largest full-service vacation rental company in North America, as a Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager. This role involves ensuring accuracy and compliance of financial reporting and technical accounting processes, researching complex accounting issues, implementing new accounting standards, and preparing financial statements.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- CPA certification
- 5+ years of experience in a public accounting firm, or consulting/advisory or public company experience
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and SEC reporting requirements
- Proficiency in technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, equity transactions, capitalized software, and financial instruments
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements, including the preparation of 10-Q and 10-K filings
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, statements of changes in equity, and footnotes
- Coordinate and manage the external audit process, acting as a main point of contact for external auditors
- Assist in the preparation and review of management reports generated from Company financial statements for other Finance functions (e.g., CFO, FP&A, Investor Relations) critical to the corporate decision making process
- Assist with developing and maintaining robust internal controls over financial reporting
- Research and interpret complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and other applicable standards
- Provide guidance and draft memos on technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, equity transactions, capitalized software, inventory, and financial instruments
- Assist in documentation and maintenance of critical accounting policies and procedures to ensure they reflect current regulations and best practices
- Implement new accounting standards and ensure their proper application across the organization
- Assist with special projects as needed
