Accounts Payable Specialist

Summary

Join Global Fishing Watch, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ocean governance, as a part-time (32 hours/week), 5-month fixed-term Accounts Payable Specialist (with possible extension). This remote role, based in the US, involves processing AP invoices, creating purchase orders, reconciling corporate credit cards, and maintaining vendor files. You will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial record-keeping. The ideal candidate possesses US GAAP and NGO experience, strong Excel skills, and is located in the Eastern or Central time zone. Compensation is $42-50/hour.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing credit card charges
• Creating draft POs
• Create POs
• Reaching out to vendors who should be submitting who missed the 5th deadline
• Process all AP invoices
• Create draft purchase orders (POs) during the last week of each month as a control measure to track and ensure all expected invoices are received
• Update Contract/consultant use spreadsheet
• Create Purchase orders as invoices arrive
• Record credit card expenses
• Review and reconcile corporate credit cards monthly and ensure proper coding and uploads to Intacct
• Maintain AP vendor files (address, W-9, etc.)
• Create vendor profiles in Intacct
• Ensure receipt of tax forms
• Gather banking information
• Correspond with vendors/employees and respond to inquiries
