Accounts Receivable Manager

Summary

Join Sterlington, an international law firm, as their remote Accounts Receivable Manager. This full-time, independent contractor position requires 10+ years of AR experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. You will drive invoice resolution and collection, manage the AR team, oversee month-end/year-end closing, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The role involves preparing reports for senior management, identifying process improvements, and collaborating with various teams. Compensation is based on experience and location. This position is not open to recruiting agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
• 10+ years’ experience working with Accounts Receivable
• Managerial/Leadership experience
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Drives the resolution, collection and disposition of unpaid invoices
• Fill in for AR billing specialists as required
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of invoices, including billable hours, and partner-specific billing arrangements
• Oversee month-end and year-end AR closing activities
• Manage and supervise the accounts receivable team, reviewing work with Partners and Senior Managers on the invoicing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Assists the finance and accounting department with billing, tracking, and collections of accounts due and reconciling conflicts
• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and implement effective collection strategies
• Ensure GL accounts are reconciled and discrepancies are corrected
• Coordinate with teams and stakeholders to address billing issues and disputes
• Prepare and present regular accounts receivable reports to senior management
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
• Understanding of revenue recognition principles according to relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS)
