Summary

Join Life360 as an Associate General Counsel - Product and play a key role in advising our expanding teams on product development across our family of mobile software applications and hardware devices. This exciting opportunity involves counseling software and hardware teams on various legal and regulatory matters, including consumer protection, privacy, advertising, and marketing. You will handle legal and regulatory matters related to hardware devices sold globally and provide legal counsel across business functions. The role requires significant experience in product counseling for consumer technology companies and a strong understanding of international regulations. Requirements

  • 8+ years of legal experience in product counseling for consumer technology companies, including a minimum of 3 years of in-house experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience advising software product managers and engineers on consumer protection and privacy matters
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in at least one state bar

Responsibilities

  • Advise engineering and product teams—including hardware device teams—on legal and regulatory issues throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Provide counsel on privacy and data protection matters, ensuring compliance with global regulations such as GDPR and CCPA
  • Advise on consumer protection, marketing, and advertising matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Support the design and delivery of innovative hardware and software solutions, addressing legal considerations specific to hardware manufacturing and sales globally
  • Monitor and provide guidance on evolving privacy, consumer protection, and technology regulations, helping Life360 stay ahead of regulatory trends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies

Preferred Qualifications

  • A mix of law firm and in-house experience
  • Strong understanding of international regulations related to hardware manufacturing and sale
