Requirements

  • 2-5 years experience in product management or related field
  • Strong technical background, either from academic, engineering, or hands-on product development experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate with dispersed teams
  • Strong project management experience, preference within software development and agile processes
  • Passion and excitement for helping consumers and understanding their needs
  • Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers, explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and provide clear status updates
  • A talent for the articulation of customer problems
  • Whatever-it-takes approach to ensure that your product and team are successful
  • Comfort working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process
  • Experience owning a project from conception to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution

Responsibilities

  • Understand and map customer needs into attainable product deliverables and requirements
  • Uncover data insights to form hypotheses, design product experiments, evaluate results, and make recommendations
  • Perform strategic and ad-hoc analysis
  • Translate highly technical, complex concepts into communication (written and verbal) to less technical stakeholders
  • Develop new analytical reporting and maintain current reports using technical expertise working with complex data models, resulting in meaningful visualizations to measure the performance of our products
  • Participate in the creation and roadmap development of new products and features
  • Prioritize feature requests based on market and customer requirements
  • Track progress of product development from creation, to deployment, through enhancement, to retirement
  • Consult with cross-collaborative teams to ensure all stakeholders are informed of the progress of your product throughout the feature life cycle
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  • Foster collaboration within the team and across the company
  • Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager's discretion
  • Travel <5% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • SQL familiarity and expertise with Periscope, Looker or a similar BI tool
  • Previous experience with externally customer-facing roles
  • Bonus points for experience with APIs, or multifamily software
