Summary
Join Escape Velocity as an Associate Technical Artist and collaborate with the Mobile Tech Art team. You will work on tool creation, content optimization, performance measurement, and build stability maintenance. Responsibilities include collaborating with art and engineering teams, optimizing content, analyzing game performance, and maintaining tools and pipelines. The ideal candidate possesses both artistic and technical skills, experience with Unreal Engine, and knowledge of optimization techniques. Requirements
- Familiarity or experience working in Unreal Engine (5 preferrable)
- Knowledge of core Unreal Engine features, such as Blueprints, PCG, Editor tools, materials graph, Niagara etc
- Knowledge or experience with profiling, performance and optimization (Renderdoc, Razor Profiler or Unreal Insights)
- Collaboratively developing tools and workflows for artists
- Knowledge of one of the major 3D Modelling packages, (3DS Max, Maya)
- Experience with a scripting language, preferably Python
- Experience with Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and Photoshop
- Strong ability to learn new areas of development
- Ability to work well within a team atmosphere
- Excellent time management skills
- Creative problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Work with art and engineering to understand art requirements and technical limitations
- Work with other Technical Artists on tools and pipelines aimed at content optimization and pipeline efficiency improvements
- Work with Art and help them with content optimizations
- Acquire a deep understanding of engine tools and technology and be able to utilize the knowledge in your future work
- Maintain and improve existing tools and pipelines
- Analyze game performance using profiling tools, identify offenders, and propose solutions while considering visual targets
Preferred Qualifications
- Artistic and technical background that covers many disciplines
- Familiar or very comfortable working inside UE, leaning more on the side of technical content creation
