Join Appvia's secure AWS platform team as an AWS Principal Technical Architect. This 6-month contract role (with potential extension) in London, UK (primarily remote) requires active UK Security Clearance. You will lead the architectural design of scalable, resilient, and secure cloud platforms and applications within an AWS environment, focusing on a significant enterprise data migration project. The role involves solution design, stakeholder engagement, technical sales support, and guiding clients in cloud-native adoption. Requirements

• Demonstrated experience designing scalable, secure cloud platforms, particularly within AWS
• Advanced knowledge of AWS application architecture (containers, databases, serverless etc), security tooling best practices
• Mastery of infrastructure-as-code practices and tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and containerization best practices to support modern application development and deployment
• Experience engaging with public sector clients, understanding their unique challenges, and delivering tailored solutions
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Commitment to staying current with industry trends, contributing to knowledge sharing, and driving best practices within the team
• Active UK Security Clearance and NPPV3 approval

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead architect within a secure AWS platform team, focusing on designing scalable, resilient platform solutions for police applications
• Develop highly available, multi-cluster EKS solutions, leveraging industry best practices in cloud architecture and security
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including civil servants, to define and align platform solutions with customer objectives
• Provide technical guidance during client engagements, explaining the benefits of proposed solutions in a clear and concise manner
• Guide customers through cloud-native adoption, educating them on cloud-native technologies and advocating for best practices in cloud and DevOps
• Evaluate new AWS services and emerging technologies, providing insights to drive innovation and improve Appvia’s internal solutions
