Summary

Join Ooma as a Billing Analyst to manage and oversee billing operations, ensuring accuracy and timely invoicing. Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Customer Support teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records. Responsibilities include preparing invoices, reviewing billing data, investigating discrepancies, maintaining schedules, collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance, monitoring revenue, supporting monthly close activities, assisting with system upgrades, generating reports, and supporting audits. A Bachelor's degree in a business-related field and 1+ years of billing/revenue accounting experience are preferred. Proficiency in accounting and billing systems, Microsoft Word and Excel, and strong communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices based on contract terms, pricing structures, and service usage
  • Review and validate billing data from various systems to ensure consistency and completeness
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and respond to internal or external inquiries in a timely manner
  • Maintain billing schedules and track milestones for recurring and project-based invoices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Customer Success and Finance, to ensure smooth billing workflows and contract alignment
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and external regulatory requirements
  • Monitor unbilled revenue and deferred revenue and assist in related reconciliations
  • Support monthly close activities by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations related to billing and accounts receivable
  • Assist with system upgrades and testing of billing modules, including process enhancements or automation projects
  • Generate and analyze billing reports to provide insights and support forecasting efforts
  • Support audit activities, including documentation gathering and process explanation

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years’ experience with billing and/or revenue accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with VLookUp and pivot tables a plus
