Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar role
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial software (e.g., Bill.com)
- Experience with bank reconciliations, bill processing, and prepaid banking
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple clients simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the ability to address discrepancies and issues effectively
- Highly productive and efficient, meeting deadlines consistently
- Excellent communication skills, working effectively with team members
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update client financial records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring transactions are properly categorized and match the general ledger
- Process bills, payments, and ensure all documents are in order and completed on time
- Manage and track prepaid banking transactions to ensure all entries are correct and compliant with firm policies
- Address uncategorized cheques (such as rent payments) and allocate them correctly to maintain accurate records
- Resolve discrepancies or issues promptly, ensuring that no problems arise during payroll or other accounting processes
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while handling tasks quickly and efficiently
- Build lasting relationships with the firm and its clients, ensuring the consistency and stability of your work
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification or in the process of pursuing a CPA
- Prior experience in a similar accounting role within a firm environment
