Business Analyst

Summary

Join SMX's State and Local team as a Business Analyst, translating business needs into technical objectives. Gather user requirements, develop implementation recommendations, and identify solutions. Report project status, including risks and key decisions, to management. Communicate business needs across stakeholders and participate in testing and application support. This remote position supports clients primarily in the Eastern Time zone. The role involves working closely with clients and project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, along with experience in business process analysis and project management.

Requirements

• Understand business processes and interpret them to define requirements, analyze current as-is processes and conceptualize to-be requirements
• Support the development of detailed stakeholder reports, user requirements, user stories, and test plans, test scenarios and test cases
• Support solution developers and business subject matter experts with documentation of functional and technical processes and system workflows using Lucid
• Develop detailed process maps and business process procedure documentation
• Develop system training plans and catalogs; conduct training sessions with customers
• Analyze data and draw conclusions from the data as it relates to business processes, stakeholders, and system users
• Develop Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word documentation
• Work with subject matter experts to define performance measures and collection methodology
• Support project management activity including metric analysis, process analysis, system analysis, measuring success, and stakeholder and leadership reporting
• Support project management tooling activities such as building project plans in Jira and Jira Advanced Roadmap
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
