Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner, preferably in a retail technology or store operations environment
  • Experience with frameworks for gathering requirements and prioritizing features (such as JTBD, Story Mapping, MoSCoW, Kano Model, etc)
  • Proven experience with POS, mPOS, or SCO systems (such as NCR, GK Systems, Toshiba, Oracle Micros, Square, etc.)
  • Familiarity with retail processes such as inventory, sales transactions, promotions, and customer service at the point of sale
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Clear written documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language and vice versa
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, engineering, store personnel as well as 3rd party vendors
  • Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Excel, Lucidchart, or similar for tracking and documentation

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with retail stakeholders to understand and document business needs, pain points, and opportunities within POS, mPOS, and SCO environments
  • Lead the gathering, analysis, and documentation of business and functional requirements for system implementation, configuration, integration, and customizations
  • Creation of Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) to multiple vendors, as well as the evaluation of responses
  • Conduct process mapping for current and future-state POS operations, including promotions, loyalty programs, payment, reporting, and other corporate integrations
  • Translate business features into clear user stories, use cases, and functional specs for the engineering, QA and vendor teams
  • Facilitate requirement workshops, stakeholder interviews, and user acceptance criteria
  • Maintain documentation of workflows, system configurations, and change logs
  • Assist in creation of KPIs and metrics for post-implementation evaluation of the effectiveness of the new POS system
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on store technologies across multiple platforms and projects
  • Assist in risk analysis, change management, and stakeholder communication throughout project lifecycles
