Summary
Join our team as a Business Consultant Level 3 for the BC Registry and Digital Services modernization project! This 1-year contract position (April 1, 2025 - March 31, 2026) in Victoria, BC (remote option available) requires 2+ years of experience defining and documenting business requirements for applications and data. You will work with diverse teams, gather requirements, develop processes, and create training materials. Successful candidates will have experience with agile methodologies and BC Registries and Digital Services. Requirements
- Have 2 years of recent relevant experience defining and documenting business requirements for applications and data
- Have 4 yearsβ experience interacting professionally with a wide variety of people in diverse roles (e.g. executives, contractors, technical experts, users) to develop and implement automated business processes
- Have 1 year of experience working with front line clients in service delivery-based organizations
- Have 3 years of experience working with an agile team using scrum methodologies
- Have experience working effectively with non-technical end users as relates to testing, including writing business test cases, conducting functional testing, and supporting UAT
- Experience providing business analysis related to integrated custom applications with complex business processes
- Must have knowledge of BC Registries and Digital Services
- Ability to lead multi-discipline teams in conducting facilitation towards new requirements
- Gathering, development of new business processes, continuous process improvements and appropriate documentation
- Have created and delivered training to customers on the items listed in the mandatory sections
- Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and documentation including business cases, business requirements documents, use cases or process flows diagramming
- Have experience with usability issues and web-based applications
- Must have knowledge of BC Registries and Digital Services
Responsibilities
- Identify, define, model and document business needs, including the ability to: Model and document technical solutions
- Develop and present business cases including feasibility studies, risk assessments and cost benefit analysis of solution alternatives
- Define and document product and funding for development and ongoing support
- Develop presentations, reports and submissions required by clients to secure approval and funding from executive or treasury board
- Develop work plans
- Interact professionally and productively with a wide variety of people in diverse roles (e.g. executives, contractors, technical experts, naΓ―ve users) to develop and implement: Automated business processes, Service agreements with service consumers and suppliers, Appropriate service management processes, Training/educational materials, and Application maintenance support
- Manage the quality of the delivered business solution to ensure it meets the quality expectations: Ensure structure, design and development of the deliverables is in compliance with applicable standards, Monitor/control project progress, resource usage and cost, and Ensure performance of technical reviews and audits and obtain required approvals before implementation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with BC Registries Modernization Initiative will be an asset
- Have created technical documentation, diagrams and RFCs
- Have experience writing release communications
- Have knowledge of application design and development life cycle; and all aspects of IT security
