Summary

Join one of the world's fastest-growing tech companies as a Business Development Director (Hunter). This role requires 10+ years of experience selling IT services to Fortune 500 companies, with a focus on the Media-Entertainment-Publishing-Edtech sectors. You will be responsible for identifying and closing complex, multi-million-dollar technology outsourcing contracts, selling at the C-level, and building strong client relationships. The ideal candidate possesses strong financial, business, and industry insights, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills. Location preference is Los Angeles or the East Coast. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an MBA or Master's degree highly desirable.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant business development experience selling IT services to Fortune 500 customers – preferably Media-Entertainment-Publishing-Edtech services
  • Demonstrable experience in identifying and closing complex, multi-million-dollar technology outsourcing contracts
  • Ability to sell at a C-level and develop sponsorship to drive deal closure
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business field
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop compelling proposals and business plans
  • Readiness to travel of over 50% or more

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all facets of the business development process
  • Demonstrate strong financial, business, and industry insights and consultative selling skills
  • Sell in Media-Entertainment-Publishing services vertical
  • Establish strong relationships with clients (including CxO level relationships)
  • Create opportunities from a defined territory by using sales 101 – cold calling, industry memberships, local connects, utilize their Alma Mater alumni’s
  • Interact, present and work with C level executives (CEO, CIO, etc)
  • Meet executives independently to qualify opportunities
  • Gather, by way of meetings, expert knowledge of client's strategy, business priorities and initiatives to develop compelling and innovative buying visions, from HCL’s Infrastructure solution portfolio
  • Pursue new clients through cold calls, email, email campaigns, and other marketing initiatives
  • Build long-lasting relationships with decision makers
  • Develop new and inventive sales methodologies to improve overall sales close rates and tighten sales cycles
  • Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition
  • Identify sales and services that would appeal to new clients
  • Manage company and client expectations
  • Collaborate and negotiate with team members and other HCL resources to define approaches and strategies to meet customer requirements and develop win / win solutions to specific tactical project problems and issues
  • Plan and engage in substantive dialogues and very complex negotiations between HCL management, client management and other parties which meet business requirements and often result in long-term agreements and commitments
  • Anticipate, recognize and address very complex problems relating to the business development discipline, client opportunities, and business unit measurements and business development metrics

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's in the technical area
  • Experience in large outsourcing situations (at least 5 years)
