Summary
Join a leading professional services organization as a Business Development Manager specializing in Laboratory Services. This remote role (Midwest preferred) focuses on driving growth and developing new business relationships with major national accounts within the Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, and Chemical industries. You will be responsible for strategic account planning, consultative selling, and collaborating with internal teams. The ideal candidate possesses a strong sales background in laboratory services, experience with large national accounts, and excellent communication skills. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of sales/business development experience working with midsize and Fortune 500 companies
- 3+ years of laboratory services sales experience with proven success in technical project and talent-based service opportunities
- Strong track record of identifying, cultivating, and closing new business opportunities
- Excellence in executive-level presentations and communications
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel up to 50% regionally and nationally
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for target clients in the laboratory services space
- Drive new business acquisition through consultative selling techniques, focusing on large national accounts
- Partner with technical teams to provide comprehensive solutions and ensure project success
- Build and maintain relationships with executive-level stakeholders and key decision makers
- Lead complex RFX processes, contract negotiations, and business reviews
- Collaborate with internal teams including Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Talent Acquisition to ensure successful account setup and management
- Create and manage quarterly/annual business plans and forecasts
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscape in laboratory services
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in validation/quality assurance solutions
- Hunter mentality with proven success in generating net new business
- Strong consultative selling skills and ability to navigate complex sales cycles
- Experience in laboratory services within Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, or Chemical industries
- Track record of growing large national accounts
- Ability to build and maintain relationships at all organizational levels
