Requirements

  • Proven track record of successful rate negotiation and carrier relationship management
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with carrier partners and attend industry events
  • Understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with existing carrier partners
  • Identify and onboard new carrier partners to expand the carrier network
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and maintain open communication channels with carriers
  • Negotiate competitive rates and service agreements with carriers
  • Manage contracts and ensure compliance with terms and conditions
  • Monitor market trends to stay competitive and adjust rates as necessary
  • Track carrier performance metrics, including on-time delivery, capacity utilization, and service quality
  • Implement performance improvement plans for underperforming carriers
  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize carrier performance and efficiency
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations
  • Coordinate with the sales team to align carrier capacity with customer demand
  • Facilitate effective communication between carriers and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities and challenges in the transportation sector
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the carrier network and service offerings
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Maintain accurate records of carrier agreements, rates, and performance data
  • Prepare and present regular reports on carrier performance and market conditions to senior management
