Requirements

  • Live in the United States
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Higher Education, Non-Profit Management, or a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Have 12+ years of experience in program management, strategic communications, or strategic support at the C-suite level
  • Have 10+ years of leadership experience
  • Possess experience with or knowledge of the higher education admissions landscape
  • Have a deep knowledge of postsecondary education and the issues facing the college admissions and enrollment landscape
  • Be able to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and advanced project management skills in a wide range of work situations often involving highly sensitive and confidential information in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Be a solution-centered problem-solver with exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to analyze and synthesize complex data and information succinctly
  • Have a proven ability to work effectively with senior executives, Board members, legal counsel, and the general public
  • Be an effective team player who can work collaboratively, meet challenges, and advance the organization's mission
  • Be able to anticipate and fulfill the business needs of executive leadership and proactively propose constructive, mission-oriented solutions to obstacles
  • Possess excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organizational levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have high critical thinking and analytical skills to bring successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-departmental problems
  • Be able to anticipate and fulfill the business needs of the CEO and senior leadership
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative, professional demeanor at all times with extraordinary relationship-building skills, tact, and diplomacy with staff, board members, and external stakeholders
  • Possess a high degree of emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and tact
  • Have experience drafting executive talking points, memorandums, and correspondence
  • Reliably meet deadlines, deliver results, and focus efforts on meeting or exceeding expectations
  • Have a good sense of humor and a willingness to embrace a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide complex confidential support and strategic guidance to the Chief Executive Officer and oversee the executive office and its budget
  • Provide ongoing support to the CEO for internal and external meetings
  • Conduct background research on relevant topics and meeting participants
  • Provide executive briefings, draft agendas, create presentations
  • Provide strategic guidance to the CEO and senior team
  • Capture and track key action items and coordinate with stakeholders to manage items, ensuring follow-through
  • Exercise confidentiality, initiative, tact, sound decision-making, independent judgment, and the ability to escalate serious or unique problems to higher levels
