Summary

Join rockITdata, a rapidly growing SDVOSB services company, as a Commercial Market Development Leader in our AI, Data, and Analytics practice. You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities with commercial sector clients, leveraging your proven sales track record and deep knowledge of AI/ML and data solutions. This role requires strong relationships with strategic technology partners like AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about helping clients transform their business through data-driven innovation. You will drive new business development, expand partner relationships, and lead the end-to-end sales cycle. Regular forecasting and reporting to senior leadership will also be part of your responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience, with a focus on technology services and solutions
  • Demonstrated success selling AI, machine learning, data platforms, or cloud analytics services
  • Existing relationships with executives and sales teams at AWS, Snowflake, and/or Databricks
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed multi-million-dollar sales targets
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and modern data stack concepts
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development and revenue growth across AI, machine learning, and data analytics services
  • Establish and expand relationships with strategic partners (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, Databricks) to drive joint go-to-market efforts
  • Identify and qualify sales opportunities within targeted industries
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting through contract negotiation and closing
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop compelling proposals and solution architectures
  • Represent rockITdata at industry events, partner forums, and client meetings
  • Maintain and expand a robust pipeline aligned with quarterly and annual revenue targets
  • Provide regular forecasting and reporting to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling to mid-market and enterprise clients in highly regulated industries
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
  • Familiarity with enterprise software such as AWS, Microsoft, Google, Snowflake and others
  • Prior experience in a startup or high-growth technology services firm
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking with a results-oriented, β€œhunter” mindset
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into compelling business value
  • Comfort working independently and in cross-functional team environments
  • High energy, self-motivated, and resilient in the face of challenges
